The manpower of G.I. Makris Ikodomiki is its most valuable resource. To ensure a safe workspace for our employees, the company has evolved a strong safety culture, driven by the goal to achieve “zero accidents” and a “nobody gets hurt” philosophy.
In order to achieve this the company follows the steps below:
- The management is committed to adhere a health and safety culture throughout the company and is also involved in day-to-day health and safety issues
- We provide intensive and systematic training on Health and Safety issues
- We have also achieved to have employee involvement in Health and Safety
- The safety culture has been instilled in G.I. Makris Ikodomiki employees with the conviction that “every accident is preventable”
INCIDENT REPORTING
It is also of utmost importance to us to continuously find ways to increase and improve incident reporting by:
- providing employees with ongoing feedback on the status of investigations and/or corrections resulting from incident reports they filed
- allowing employees to file incident reports, without signing them
- designing a simplified, anonymous check-box form for reporting incidents
- encouraging employees to report incidents and safety issues during safety walk-rounds; and

building trust by ensuring that by reporting incidents:
- will result in positive changes in safety systems and/or work conditions
- will not lead to a blame game and fault-finding
